McDonald’s move to Europa Center

McDonald’s is making a statement with its new location in the Europa Center: the restaurant, with a total area of over 1,000 m² and a high level of exposure to the Tauentzien shopping street and Breitscheidplatz, marks the return of the market leader in system catering to Berlin’s top location. McDonald’s is thus continuing its expansion strategy in prime inner-city locations in addition to its tried-and-tested drive-thru locations on motorways, major traffic arteries and business parks.

Restaurant of the future

McDonald’s is planning a ‘restaurant of the future’ in the Europa Center with freshly prepared food, a large outdoor terrace, an indoor terrace, table service, play facilities for children and a McCafé with barista-quality coffee specialities.

‘It was a challenge to find a suitable space of this size in this very touristy prime location’, explains Christoph Schulz, Managing Partner of Lührmann Berlin. ‘We are all the more pleased that we were able to assist McDonald’s in finding a new location in Berlin’. The new restaurant will become a big attraction for tourists and locals thanks to its very good exposure and the novel McDonald's concept.

Europa Center

The Europa Center has held its own for over 50 years in the prime location of the shopping mile Tauentzienstrasse in Berlin’s City West. Today, the Europa Center is home to around 70 stores; these include flagship stores of internationally renowned brands as well as hand-picked, regional boutiques. The range is completed by traditional and creative gastronomy and entertainment concepts. In addition to the shopping mall, the Europa Center complex includes the 21-storey Office Tower with over 13,000 m² of office space, the Palace Berlin business hotel with approx. 280 rooms and 2,600 m² of event space, as well as Haus Eden, a residential and commercial building with 73 residential and 45 commercial units and a parking garage with over 1,000 parking spaces.
